well I did feel better until I realized I no longer recognize my own country

I know it's cheeky of me to refer to this fine (brown .. in the words of that English rose Virginia McKenna) land as Mine.. 'cos my family came here from other shores of course... well it's a little debatable. There's talk of a Middle Eastern man and there's also the ship's navigator who jumped ship in Tasmania- he had been born in Estonia but had German heritage.. so those two explain the 'olive' complextion..
anyway, I digress (surely not .who me!)I was feeling a bit better and back on my bike, literally. My mum when we were upset used to say "Don't get off your bike. I'll pick up your pump".. meaning stop acting like a lunatic. She used to also say "You look like the little girl who killed her mother and father so she could go to the orphan's picnic"..That meant like someone who had done something really silly that was not able to be fixed, 'sad'.
Anyway, I digress. I was feeling a bit better, albeit sore from cycling to the end of the road and back! And then I saw some TV.. Bob Hawke offerring to bury nuclear waste in Australia.... "Hello!...Bob, Bob, anyone home in there?" and the new legislation regarding work practices which will mean an employer can piss in your lunch box and if you complain he/she can fire you and you have no recall.
Then I have to listen to John small minded Howard telling us he goes for a walk everyday where ever he is... Way to go John..Is Tyranacide really over? He suggests we all walk every day just like him.. We can all walk just like my grandfather from town to town looking for work in the depression. One woman on SBS 'insight' had a good idea about burying nuclear waste in Australia. She said that's fine so long as it gets buried under Kirribilly House. ...See how the walking goes after living on top of that for a few years. I met a man years ago who had worked at Roxby Downs ..he was about 28 when I met him and he had a chronic arthritis-like condition.. What the...........?
I have been so spoilt .. living in peace,n pluralism,..with generous smart people enjoying freedom of speech..It feels like it's all over red rover...integrity is ill, and water scarce. The life style isn't sustainable ... No S.... t Sherlock!
